Another Royal Event

Disney

There have been some strange sightings around London town this week, leaving clues about the arrival of a very special guest coming for a visit. Do you see the long "rope" of hair cascading down from one of the towers at The Tower of London?

Disney

Yes it's true, Rapunzel came for a visit, all in preparation for her big induction today into the royal realm of Disney princesses. Make room Princess Kate--you're not the only royal princess in town.

Little girls came from far and wide to stake out their place on the parade route

in Hyde Park, as Rapunzel and the nine other Disney princesses came by carriage

to make their way to Kensington Palace for the royal ceremonies. This was Rapunzel's official welcome by Disney to the realm of Disney princesses, and there's no place any more royal than Kensington Palace for such festivities.

There was great excitement as Snow White greeted the crowds,

followed by an endearing Cinderella,

a gracious Sleeping Beauty,

bubbly Ariel,

a crowd favorite, Belle,

and lovely Jasmine.

Princesses Pocahontas and Mulan shared a carriage,

while Jasmine blew kisses to the crowds.

Anticipation grew as the favorite horse in the movie "Tangled," stepped out proudly first,

making way for the star of the day, Rapunzel, soon to be Princess Rapunzel.

The gates of Kensington Palace were a popular photo shoot for all the little girls whose dreams came true, at least for the afternoon. And if there's a little girl in your household, or a "little girl" in your heart who would like to see the parade on video, here are a couple of minutes of their dreams coming true.

  2. Debi,
Don't you wish that Princess Jordan had been with you? You must have had an accomplice to get the great video and still shots of each princess. Well done.

I have missed you also. I fb quite a bit while working but blogging takes so much precious time. Maybe one of these days I'll get back in the swing of it.

  5. I believe that Rapunzel neglected to send us our royal invitation. Tsk tsk. I thought it would be fun for you to watch Jordan watch the parade, so I decided to wait to show her the video. So very fun!!

P.S. Because of the royal Disney expert in my home (and because I know yours is both an entertaining as well as an accurately informative blog), I feel it my duty to point out that the lovely kiss-blowing princess is the beautiful Tiana from The Princess and the Frog. Don't you just love her dress?

  6. You always have the most delightful adventures, Debi, and are so generous in sharing them. I love this! Who would have thought? The little girls in costume are precious. And oh, yes, Jordan would have be a star among them. :)
